What is a social impact film?

A social impact film has social and or environmental goals that the project’s creator/s wish to achieve. The film has entertaining as well as social values. During the film development and predominantly after the film is released there is an outreach and audience engagement programme to raise awareness to issues that the film highlights; create a shift in public attitudes; mobilise people to do things differently; influence law and policy etc.

Read more about our Impact project.

How can I get involved?

We are very keen to collaborate with like-minded individuals and organisations. Please visit the Take Action section to read about the many ways you can get involved and make a difference.

How can I support the project?

We are keen to make a positive social and environmental impact and a real difference to young people’s lives, especially young women. We are a small team and would greatly benefit from in-kind support, pro-bono support, sponsorship and or donations.

For example, we would like to screen the film in more underserved communities in Southern Africa / Africa. We would like to create more language versions, a shorter version of the film and a selection of clips about the issues that the film highlighted from additional footage that we shot with the young women and footage we shot about the issues that the film highlights, predominantly the threats to iMfolozi from coal mining and illegal hunting. We would like to do more PR and interact with wider audiences on social media and have more screenings at schools, universities, events etc.

If you wish to support the project or get involved as a pro-bono provider, volunteer, intern, host a screening etc please get in touch to discuss.
